With 7 laps to go of 268, Kyle Busch spun and brought out a caution. That sent the race into NASCAR overtime with 2 green flag laps to settle the finish.

On the green flag, Larson dove inside to make it three wide for the lead into turn one. Off turn two, Buescher led Larson.

As they took the white flag, Larson was building speed on the outside lane. Heading into turn three for the final time, Buescher attempted to block the outside.

However, Larson drove it deep into the corner. He squeezed between the right rear of Buescher and the outside wall. Inches between both, they were in a battle for the win

Larson and Buescher banged doors off turn four. They then hit another time. Side by side they ran to the line with a margin of victory by just inches.

Initially, Chris Buescher thought he was the race winner. The scoring showed him as the winner.

However, upon review of the high speed camera, NASCAR declared Kyle Larson the race winner.

Kyle Larson comments

“That was wild,” Kyle Larson told FOX Sports after the race.

“I figured my best shot was to split three wide. It worked out, my car turned well. Got through 1-2 really well and had a big tow on Chris.”

“I committed really hard up top. Wasn’t quite sure we were going to make it out the other side, I got super loose in the center.”

“It was crazy. I mean, that race from start to finish, was amazing. You guys got your money’s worth today. I’m just proud to be a part of the show.”

“I didn’t know if I won or not.”

Originally, the spotter came on the radio and told Larson that Buescher got the win. He later came back over the radio with a correction.

“I wish we had more mile-and-a-halfs. We all b**** about the package and all that. But, these cars just race so amazing.”

NASCAR has several high speed cameras set at the finish line. In these situations, the finish is reviewed from the camera, not scoring.

It’s the closest photo finish in NASCAR history.

Chris Buescher comments

“I don’t know what to say right now,” Buescher opened post-race.

“I haven’t seen the finish, other than a picture. And, I sure can’t see it in that picture. It sucks to be that close.”

“Thought I had that one. I tried to cover as much as I could but I gave him half a lane too much, I suppose.”

“Good hard race there, down to the line. Just, that hurts.”

Scott Graves, the crew chief for Buescher met with NASCAR in the hauler after the race to discuss the finish.
