DALE EARNHARDT JR. NOT HAPPY WITH NASCAR'S KYLE BUSCH RULING

You can count NASCAR great Dale Earnhardt Jr. among the many who were not pleased with the raceday officials' decision to let Kyle Busch back into the top five of a restart following a crash.

On the latest episode of the Dale Jr. Download, Earnhardt went off on NASCAR for not moving Busch to the back after getting involved in a crash. He recalled a situation in a race he was in where Clint Bowyer saw his car get similarly affected to the way Busch did and was allowed back into the race at his original spot.

“That was (expletive) then, and it’s (expletive) today,” Earnhardt said. “I don’t care what you tell me. I watched a guy crash into the wreck. He’s done. He’s going to finish in the back. No way his ass gets put back in his position like nothing happened to him.”

NASCAR ruled that Busch hadn't made enough contact with the crashed cars to warrant being moved to the back, but Earnhardt isn't buying it.

“I don’t understand how he gets it back,” Earnhardt stated. “I watched the guy go up and hit the wall. I know he didn’t drive into the wreck, he didn’t hit the one car that was spinning out in front of him, but he did go up the racetrack, make contact with the outside wall. In that moment for me, he’s in the wreck.”

NASCAR drivers seem torn over the idea, possibly because they would like to get the same treatment that Busch did if they ever find themselves in the same situation.

This controversy could be an interesting discussion point moving forward.
