"PLANES ARE EXPENSIVE" - KYLE LARSON HINTS AT HMS LESSONS LEARNED WITH CHASE ELLIOTT & CO

Kyle Larson revealed the lessons he has learned from his teammates at Hendrick Motorsports, racing with them since 2021.

In a Q&A session that Larson held on his Instagram stories, fans put in interesting questions for him to answer. A user asked him a question regarding his learnings from the time he has spent with HMS since 2021. Responding to that, he put a picture of the four HMS drivers together and wrote under each driver.

Referring to Chase Elliott's aviation hobby, he wrote:

"Planes are expensive," since the driver owns one.

Further, he wrote for William Byron:

"iRacing for road courses," a popular simulator used by professional drivers to compete.

Finally, under Chase Elliot, he wrote:

"Apparently everyone in dirt soaks tires."

Kyle Larson moved to Hendrick Motorsports in the 2021 season and drove the #5 Chevrolet to the Cup Series Championship victory. He also finished the championship in second place in 2023 and is driving competitively this season as well, leading the standings with five stage wins and 531 laps led.

His teammate William Byron has been one of the most well-performing drivers this season. He has managed to win three races so far, including the Daytona 500.

Kyle Larson on his teammate's form this season - "He's been really good"

Byron started the season on a high after winning the Daytona 500, and then repeated his success at the Circuit of The Americas and then again at Martinsville. Other than that, he finished in the top ten at four different events.

Leading a successful campaign, the Next Gen cars seemingly suit his driving style, which is what his teammate Kyle Larson guessed. Still confused about the reason for his performance in the car, Larson mentioned that it could also be because of the chemistry he shares with his crew chief.

"The Next Gen car, he's obviously been really good in it. I don't know what has made him so good in the Next Gen car, if it's the prep work or just suits his style. But I know he's been really good," Frontstretch quoted Larson. [0:33]
"I think too having him and Rudy (Fugle) work together even more each year, they seem to get better and when you're running better you get more confidence and that always helps. He's extremely good and kind of got it all figured out right now," he added.

While Kyle Larson leads the championship this season, Byron sits in fourth place with 335 (50 stage) points.
