4 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE GREEN BAY PACKERS 2024 NFL SCHEDULE

The schedule for the 2024 NFL season has yet to been released, but it's coming. In the meantime, we already know a good deal about the Packers' slate, including opponents and where the games will be played. All that we're missing is the dates, and we'll have those soon enough.

While we wait, here are four key things to know about Green Bay's schedule for the upcoming 2024 campaign.

Hello Brazil

Green Bay will open up the 2024 campaign by playing against the Philadelphia Eagles in the first-ever game in São Paulo, Brazil. The Packers will be the designated road team in the contest game, which will take place on Friday, Sept. 6. It will be the first time the NFL has played a game on Friday night of Week 1 since 1970.

"We're looking forward to being a part of this historic matchup against the Eagles in São Paulo," said Packers President Mark Murphy said in a statement. "We're excited to play in front of our devoted fans in Brazil and help build upon the international popularity of the NFL and the Packers. We had a great experience playing internationally for the first time a couple of years ago and we're proud to be part of the league's continued global growth."

Getting to play a game in Brazil is an awesome opportunity for the Packers, and an interesting way to kick off their season.

A rematch with San Francisco

Green Bay's season came to an end at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round last season. The good news for the Packers is that they won't have to wait too long for a shot at revenge, as they're slated to play the Niners in 2024. To make it even better, that game is slated to take place within the friendly confines of Lambeau Field, so perhaps the Packers will benefit from that vaunted home field advantage.

A pair of games against the No. 1 overall pick

The Packers play the Bears twice every season. There will be a new wrinkle in the rivalry this season though, as the Bears have a new franchise quarterback. Chicago selected Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the '24 Draft, and the Packers will get to see him up close and personal twice next season -- and every season after that as long as he's a member of the Bears.

Prior to his selection, the Bears traded incumbent quarterback Justin Fields to the Steelers, so the expectation is that Williams will take over as the starter from Day 1. Williams became the third top overall pick in Bears history, and the hopes in Chicago are sky-high for the young quarterback.

Games against playoff teams

Of Green Bay's 17 regular season games in 2024, seven will come against playoff teams from last season. Those games will be against the 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans, Detroit Lions (twice) and Miami Dolphins.

Green Bay's remaining ten tilts will come against teams that didn't qualify for postseason play last season. But, the packers can't afford to overlook any of those teams, as all have aimed to improve over the offseason. Overall, Green Bay's 2024 opponents had a combined record of 152-137 last season.
