CAM NEWTON NAMES NFL'S GREATEST DUAL-THREAT QB OF ALL-TIME

When most elite athletes look back on their playing days they like to think of themselves as the best.

Except Cam Newton.

While he knows he was one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks to ever touch the field, the former NFL MVP is humble enough to know when he's been beaten.

During a recent "4th and 1" podcast episode, Newton was asked if he's the best dual-threat quarterback to ever play the game. He immediately said, "No," and named Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson as the best ever.

Newton explained their play-styles area a bit different, giving Lamar the edge.

"Well, Lamar's style is a little different than mine. He got big play [potential], any play. Yes, he got speed that I never had, and he's just electric," Newton said. "And then I played the game more... powerful. Yeah I can run, but I might probably get caught. [Michael] Vick, Lamar, they ain't getting caught."

It's difficult to argue with the selection given the fact Lamar has two NFL MVPs to his name. In 2019, he led the league in passing touchdowns and set a record for the most rushing yards by a quarterback in a season with 1,206.

The only thing Jackson's career is missing is postseason success. He's led Baltimore to just one conference title game since coming into the league - a loss last year to the Kansas City Chiefs.
