COLTS QUENTON NELSON TOLD STEELERS GREAT TJ WATT WOULD DESTROY HIM:' HE WAS MAD'

The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to take on one of the harder schedules in the NFL during the 2024 season, and one of those matchups could have just gotten a lot harder. In Week 4, Pittsburgh will be traveling to take on the Indianapolis Colts. They got destroyed by the Colts in 2023 by a score of 30-13. During that game, Damontae Kazee delivered a devastating hit to Michael Pittman Jr., which already has him in the crosshairs of some Colts players. Now, TJ Watt may be a target of Indianapolis too.

Watt is supported by Steelers fans all over the planet, but his biggest fan might happen to be Barstool Sports personality Jersey Jerry. Jerry is known by many throughout the sports world, and will stop at nothing when it comes to defending Watt. On Tuesday, Jerry travelled to Nashville to be a referee in the Bussin' With The Boys Beer Games Championship, where many NFL players participated. Jerry spoke with Colts guard Quenton Nelson, which may have been a disservice for Watt.

During an appearance on The Yak on Thursday, Jerry shared a conversation he had with Nelson at the beer games. He talked some trash to Nelson and said that Watt would dominate him, which likely rubbed Nelson the wrong way. The irony of the situation is that Watt and Nelson play on opposite sides of the formation, and Nelson is an interior lineman while Watt is an edge rusher.

Due to where the two players lineup on the field, they would likely never come into contact with one another. The only time it may happen is if Nelson is the pulling guard on a run play to the right side, where he might be tasked with taking on Watt. Other than that, Watt never rushes the left guard in passing situations. Overall, it is a funny interaction between Jerry and Nelson that could stick in the back of the guard's mind when he gets prepared to take on the Steelers in Week 4.

Nelson and Watt are both two of the best players at their respective positions. Nelson is a six time Pro Bowler and has been named an All-Pro four times, while Watt is also a six time Pro Bowler who has been named an All-Pro five times. Both have been dominant nearly their entire careers, and if the two ever met on the field, it would be a clash of titans.

Steelers Looking To Bounce Back Against The Colts In 2024

The Steelers were playing with a backup quarterback when they took on the Colts in 2023, and are certainly looking to make the 2024 contest an easier watch for the fans. The Steelers' defense couldn't stop anything last season in their previous matchup and the offense struggled to move the ball, committing several turnovers throughout the game.

Gardner Minshew threw for three touchdowns on the day and the Steelers were overpowered on the ground by running backs who had spent time on the practice squad that season. Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson combined for over 150 yards rushing, which kept the clock moving and made it impossible for the Steelers to climb back in the game.

In 2024, the Steelers are expecting to get better quarterback play out of Russell Wilson. During the 2023 contest, Mitch Trubisky took three sacks and threw two interceptions. The contest should be much tighter this time around, but things could get chippy for both Watt and Kazee.
