GIANTS DRAFT PICKS 2024: WHEN DOES NEW YORK PICK? FULL LIST OF NFL DRAFT SELECTIONS

Coming off a 6-11 season, the New York Giants are looking to right the ship at the 2024 NFL Draft.

Dealing with injuries to several positions, including quarterback and offensive line, the Giants looked like a totally different team than the one that reached the divisional round of the playoffs in 2022.

Quarterback Daniel Jones is working his way back from a torn ACL, which limited him to just six games in 2023. Tyrod Taylor signed with the New York Jets in free agency, and the Giants replaced him with Drew Lock.

The Giants have two selections within the top 50, and their spot in the second round is later due to the trade to acquire edge rusher Brian Burns this offseason. Even with Jones under contract, the quarterback position is certainly in play at No. 6 overall.

This will be the third draft for general manager Joe Schoen. Last year, they selected cornerback Deonte Banks. In 2022, they used a pair of top-10 picks to select edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux and offensive tackle Evan Neal.

The Sporting News is tracking the Giants' 2024 NFL Draft selections, from round one to seven. Follow along with the picks below.

Giants' NFL Draft needs

  • Wide Receiver: Even thought the Giants have a decent stable of wideouts including Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton and Jalin Hyatt, the Giants would do well to take advantage of a deep wide receiver class. They haven't had a true alpha WR1 since the Odell Beckham Jr. days so it makes sense for them to target this position early.
  • Quarterback: Daniel Jones is technically under contract for the next three seasons, but there's an out in his contract after 2024, and his recent injury history makes it difficult to depend on him. The Giants have done extensive work on this quarterback class and if the one they love is available, they should take a shot.
  • Secondary: Both the cornerback and safety positions should be targets for the Giants throughout the draft. They have a promising CB1 in Deonte Banks, but depth behind him is needed. The safety position might be the biggest pure need on the roster, but the value won't be there until Days 2 and 3 of the draft.
