NFL INSIDER MAKES DAK PRESCOTT INJURY ANNOUNCEMENT BEFORE COWBOYS TRAINING CAMP

The Dallas Cowboys are a few weeks away from training camp. As always, there is a lot of pressure around the franchise to deliver, and more in 2024 as it could be Mike McCarthy's final year as head coach.

Unfortunately, the Cowboys got a discouraging injury update on Dak Prescott Thursday. Prescott was spotted in Los Cabos with a protective boot on his right foot, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

"Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, spotted here in a protective walking boot, is dealing with a very minor foot sprain and has been for a few days," Rapaport wrote. "It’s not considered to be anything that should affect his preparation for 2024."

Prescott is dealing with a foot sprain, although Rapoport describes it as "minor." Still, that is something to be concerned about for the Cowboys and their fans going into camp.

It is the same ankle Prescott fractured in 2020, so there is cause for concern, even with Rapoport saying it is a minor injury.

Moreover, Prescott and the Cowboys are in a tough spot because this is the final year of his current deal. If the two sides can't get a deal done, Prescott could walk into free agency in 2025 and command a contract that will be among the top in the league.

Prescott's injury will be something to watch over the next few weeks before the Cowboys begin training camp at the end of July.
