RUTHLESS AGGRESSION ERA VETERAN WILLING TO MAKE HIS WWE RETURN AS DREW MCINTYRE'S MANAGER

WWE has a filled roster and Drew McIntyre is one of the most popular names in the locker room. During a recent podcast appearance, Jonathan Coachman revealed he would love to return and manage The Scottish Warrior.

Jonathan Coachman last signed a WWE contract in 2018, when he returned for a brief commentary stint that didn't go well for the wrestling veteran. Coachman was a popular interviewer in the WWE for several years and was away from the world of wrestling for a long time.

He appeared on The Angle Podcast and was asked about a potential WWE return. Coachman said apart from being on the commentary team, he wouldn't mind becoming the manager of an active superstar. The Ruthless Aggression Era veteran named Drew McIntyre as a wrestler who might not need a manager but could produce fun moments if he had one.

"Well, I'll be honest with you, not that he needs it, because I don't think he does, but I think it would be fun to work with Drew McIntyre because he is such a big dude. I think having somebody put over how good he is and how big he is would be a lot of fun. Again, I don't think someone smaller would need that. Again, perception is also the reality." Jonathan Coachman feels he could help WWE talents develop their promo skills

Cutting promos is a critical requirement to become a top-tier WWE Superstar. Many wrestlers got away with their apparent weakness in the microphone department by having managers, and Jonathan Coachman believed he could help similarly.

Coachman recalled learning from the "best" and mentioned how he closely observed Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson cut some of the greatest promos ever. The 50-year-old explained that the younger talents could especially benefit from having him do the talking.

"I think that it would be a blast to do that now, especially with some of the younger talent, who maybe don't quite understand how to cut a promo. I learned from the best. I was right there with The Rock for two years every single time he was going for promos. There is an art to it. There is a pause to it, there is an inflection to it, there is an understanding that it doesn't matter when the red light comes on; you've got to hit it in this length of time." Mastering the art of effective promo-cutting can take years, and Jonathan Coachman, thankfully, has studied every facet of the job and is ready to share it with up-and-comers.
