STEELERS SIGN FORMER SUPER BOWL CHAMPION WIDE RECEIVER

Russell Wilson will be throwing the ball to another ex-Super Bowl champion next season.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Wednesday that veteran wide receiver Scotty Miller is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent. The Steelers are taking a flier on Miller with a one-year deal.

Miller, 26, is best known for his stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2019-22. He was especially productive during the 2020 season, catching 33 passes for 501 yards and three touchdowns as the Bucs went on to win the Super Bowl that year. Miller is generally known for his speed and some ability as a deep threat (though he can struggle with drops and blocking).

Last season with the Atlanta Falcons, Miller earned very few targets in a dysfunctional passing offense, catching just 11 total passes despite playing in all 17 games. But he got familiar there with new Steelers OC Arthur Smith, who was previously head coach for the Falcons. Miller will now be a new secondary offensive weapon for Wilson and the Steelers, helping replace some of their pass-catching talent that left this offseason.
