HURRICANES AND MAPLE LEAFS MAKE COMEBACKS, GOLDEN KNIGHTS HOLD ON AND OILERS DOMINATE

There were four games in action last night and each game's winner had their own script.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes, Vegas Golden Knights and the Edmonton Oilers came out on top.

Toronto Maple Leafs score late go-ahead goal in the third period to beat the Boston Bruins 3-2

The Maple Leafs were once again without William Nylander but thanks to a big-time performance from Auston Matthews the Maple Leafs were able to tie the series at 1-1. The Bruins scored their third power play goal of the series but the Maple Leafs were disciplined enough to limit their opportunities. With the score tied at 2-2, Max Domi flipped a puck towards the Bruins blueline and Matthews went up and caught it before undressing Linus Ullmark to give the Maple Leafs the lead.

The Carolina Hurricanes comeback from a 3-0 deficit to beat the New York Islanders 5-3

The Islanders took just 12 shots all game but found themselves in a very advantageous situation. They were up two goals with less than 10 minutes remaining before the Hurricanes found their scoring touch. Goals by Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho tied the game at 3-3 before Jordan Martinook gave the Hurricanes the lead. He scored nine seconds after Aho tied to give the Hurricanes a 2-0 series lead.

The Vegas Golden Knights narrowly hold on to beat the Dallas Stars 4-3

The Stars doubled the Golden Knights' shots on goal but couldn't beat them on the score sheet. Mark Stone scored the opening goal on the power play in his return. Shortly after Jonathan Marchessault scored to give the Golden Knights a 2-0 lead forcing the Stars to play from behind the rest of the game. Each time the Stars scored the Golden Knights had a response. Tomas Hertl scored his first playoff goal as a Golden Knight on the power play as well.

The Edmonton Oilers convincingly beat the Los Angeles Kings 7-4

Zach Hyman scored his first career playoff hat trick and Connor McDavid added five assists for the Oilers to cruise by the Kings. The Oilers finished 3-4 on the power play and if the Kings are unable to slow them down, the series might end quickly. The Kings threw 37 pucks at Stuart Skinner but gave up 45 shots themselves.

The New York Rangers, Florida Panthers, Winnipeg Jets and the Vancouver Canucks are looking to take a 2-0 series lead tonight while the Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning, Colorado Avalanche and the Nashville Predators all try to even the series up on the road.
