ZACH HYMAN RUNS OVER PHILLIP DANAULT

EDMONTON -- It wasn't the result they wanted.

The Edmonton Oilers crawled back from a 3-1 deficit after the first period against the Los Angeles Kings. They tied the game at 3-3 after the second period - but ultimately lost the game (5-4 in overtime) because of unlucky bounces.

Despite the result, there wasn't a lot to dislike about the Oilers game in general. While a lot of fans on social media have raised their torches and pitchforks towards Stuart Skinner - he isn't to blame for every goal against.

Two goals were unlucky bounces, one goal he didn't see and one he said himself that he should have been able to stop. It was a tough showing for the young netminder - but he's remaining even keel through the loss.

One of the biggest moments of the night came from Zach Hyman - who's taken one element of his game to new heights in the playoffs. He's had a combined eight hits over two games this playoff round, but none more impactful than this one on Phillip Danault.

That hit appeared to rock Danault back into California for game three - he looked out of sorts there. Some on social media said that Danault went into the locker room after that hit. Hopeully he's okay and it's nothing serious.

Game three will be played back in California on Friday night - 8:30 PM Mountain start time.
