2025 FIVE-STAR FORWARD LEAH MACY ANNOUNCES HER COMMITMENT

Leah Macy, a top recruit from the class of 2025, announced her commitment to Notre Dame on Monday.

The five-star prospect revealed her decision with a photo posted to her social media pages. Macy shared a video in which she thanked numerous people throughout her journey.

"You did it," Macy said to a section directed to her younger self. "You accomplished your biggest dream. All the sacrifices you made were worth it. You stayed true to who you are and remained focused on what was important to you."

Around four minutes into the commitment video, the piano score drops as a basketball falls onto the gym's court. Notre Dame's fight song begins to play before the camera pans up to Macy wearing a green Fighting Irish shirt.

ESPN ranks Macy as the No. 14 prospect from the class of 2024. The 6-foot-2 forward averaged 24.9 points and 13.9 rebounds per game at Kentucky's Bethlehem High School last season.

After receiving dozens of offers, Macy narrowed down her finalists to Notre Dame, UConn, Kentucky, and Louisville. She's the Fighting Irish's first 2025 commit.

Notre Dame made its third straight Sweet 16 appearance behind head coach Niele Ivey. Hannah Hidalgo will return after leading the ACC tournament champions with 22.6 points per game in her first season.

While Macy still has another year of high school, the Fighting Irish also bolstered next season's roster by landing forwards Liza Karlen and Liatu King through the transfer portal. They'll join a 2024 recruiting class led by five-star prospect Kateryna Koval.
