ARROWHEAD PRIDE’S CONSENSUS TOP 100 NFL DRAFT PROSPECTS

As you read through draft prospect rankings from around the Internet, you’re bound to notice that they vary widely. It’s hard to know which one to believe. So we’ve made it possible for you to see how a consensus of analysts would view this year’s NFL Draft prospects.

We started with top rankings from five sources — ESPN (which listed 380 prospects), Pro Football Focus (listing 400), CBS Sports (315), Pro Football Network (300) and Draftek (400)— and then averaged them. The top 100 results are shown here.

When rankings were averaged, players who weren’t on a particular list were calculated as if they had been ranked one position higher than the total number in that ranking. For example, if a player didn’t appear on ESPN’s list of 380, the average was calculated as if they had been ranked 381st by ESPN.

On both Friday and Saturday, we’ll publish new top-100 lists showing only the players still available. So as you watch the draft unfold for the Kansas City Chiefs, keep an eye on these rankings.

Below the table, you’ll find some fun facts about the combined rankings.

The first column shows each player’s current rank. The second column shows their position — and their ranking within it. Then the third column has the player’s name and school.

A total of 494 players were listed in the five prospect rankings we used. As you would expect, there was a lot of variance between them — in fact, the five rankings didn’t even agree on the top overall player. Three named USC quarterback Caleb Williams, while the other two went with Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison, Jr.

This year, all of the top 100 players (and all but three of the top 200) appeared on all five lists. A total of 238 players appeared on all five rankings. 77 players made four lists, 37 were listed on three, 42 appeared on two and 100 showed up on just one.

Here’s how many players made at least one of the lists for each position, followed by the number of those ranked within the first three rounds and the percentage of the total.

  • Quarterback 24 (7 — 29%)
  • Tackle 50 (15 — 30%)
  • Guard 23 (3 — 13%)
  • Center 24 (3 — 13%)
  • Tight end 25 (4 — 16%)
  • Running back (4 — 10%)
  • Wide receiver 56 (19 — 34%)
  • Defensive tackle 42 (11 — 26%)
  • Edge rusher 39 (11 — 28%)
  • Linebacker 41 (4 — 10%)
  • Cornerback 70 (12 — 17%)
  • Safety 42 (7 — 17%)
  • Placekicker 8 (0 — 0%)
  • Punter 5 (0 — 0%)
  • Long snapper 5 (0 — 0%)

As you can see, two of Kansas City’s positions of greatest need — wide receiver and offensive tackle — have the most players ranked within the first three rounds.
