BRAD KESELOWSKI RESPONDS TO SOUTH CAROLINA'S GOVERNOR EXPRESSING HIS THOUGHTS OVER DARLINGTON RACEWAY

Former NASCAR Cup Series champion, Brad Keselowski, has recently responded to Governor Henry McMaster's thoughts on Darlington Raceway. NASCAR is about a month away from hosting the 75th Annual Cook Out Southern 500 at the iconic track.

Therefore, to commemorate the rich history of racing at "The Track Too Tough To Tame", previous winners of the crown jewel event like Bobby Labonte and Brad Keselowski himself appeared during a special kickoff event at Myrtle Beach on Friday. Governor Henry McMaster served as the host of the day.

Elated at the opportunity, McMaster took to X (formerly Twitter) and said,

"Darlington Raceway has provided generations of NASCAR fans with spectacular memories and breathtaking finishes. It was a pleasure to be in Myrtle Beach today to talk about the upcoming race weekend and the tremendous economic impact the track @TooToughToTame has on our state."

Brad Keselowski shared McMaster's post, saying:

"Thank you for hosting us today Governor! Look forward to coming back to Darlington, SC in a few weeks. A+ milkshakes @CookOut"

The track officials will later facilitate several other events, including a Q&A session with the drivers, the Terrence Carraway Memorial 5K, and the fan-favorite NASCAR Hauler Showcase and Parade. Furthermore, fans can also pilot their cars in the "Track Laps for Charity" event on August 28.

The on-track action at Darlington Raceway will commence with the Xfinity Series race on August 31, followed by the Cup Series event on September 1.

Brad Keselowski reveals plans for RFK Racing during NASCAR's two-week break

Needless to say, NASCAR's yearly schedule pays a heavy toll on the lives of the drivers as well as their team members. A break is not something that they get to cherish throughout the season. Therefore, several drivers have already committed to spending time with their families during this year's most-awaited, two-week break; thanks to the 2024 Summer Olympics.

However, workaholics exist everywhere, and NASCAR is not an exception. Not everyone wants to take a break like this, and being a team owner, Brad Keselowski understands that.

"Our strategy so far has been to tell people, 'Please go home. Please take a vacation but (do) not force it.'" Keselowski said during the pre-race presser at Indianapolis Motor Speedway last week (6:22). "We learned the hard way that forcing people to take vacations is not always good for them. They sometimes get more mad at you for that than if you just told them we have to work."
"Everybody will figure out their own thing with kind of like a heavy nod of please go some time off, and come back well-rested," he added.

Brad Keselowski's win at Darlington Raceway on May 12, locked him in the 2024 playoffs. However, his teammate Chris Buescher is yet to win his first race of the season. Keselowski currently sits 9th in the Cup Series standings with 615 points to his name while Buescher is 12th with 562 points. Their next race is at Richmond Raceway on August 11.
