Coach Prime has been rolling out the red carpet for top recruits this summer, and it's working! One big fish, 4-star WR Quanell Farrakhan Jr., might be ditching Kalen DeBoer's Alabama for the Buffs. Well, looks like Deion's charm is tough to resist. Farrakhan began his college search in March with his sights set on Texas A&M, Nebraska, and even DeBoer's Alabama. However, a recent June visit to Boulder seems to have changed his mind. Even before the visit, Farrakhan expressed excitement about the chance to play under Coach Prime. After meeting the Buffs staff, he raved to On3 experts: "I loved it in Colorado...they made me feel like I was at home and I believe that they could get me to the next level." He also praised the Buffs' coaching staff, particularly offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, for their ability to develop players. Now, this is quite a huge win for Coach Prime. Farrakhan is a highly rated talent, with 46 receptions for 806 yards in high school itself, making him one of the nation's best receivers. Even On3's recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong now heavily favors Colorado to land Farrakhan, which is a major upset for DeBoer, who seemed like the frontrunner since March. This spring, Kalen DeBoer hosted over 70 recruits, and Farrakhan initially seemed excited about the Alabama program. He called it a "receiver's dream" to play for the Crimson Tide. However, his visit to Boulder appears to have shifted his focus. With his final decision expected around July 13th, all signs point towards Farrakhan joining Coach Prime's Buffaloes. Looks like a big win is waiting for the 2025 Buffs squad.
