FEVER COACH PLACING BLAME FOR CAITLIN CLARK USAGE AFTER LOSS: INDIANA TRACKER

JUNE 28 UNHAPPY Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides is expressing unhappiness with how Caitlin Clark was utilized in Thursday's 89-77 loss to the Seattle Storm.

"Caitlin Clark needs to shoot a minimum of 15 shots a game for us," Sides said. "She's got to get shots, and we've got to do a better job of setting her up, setting some really good screens for her to get her open."

Sides is sort of blaming Clark ... and she's sort of blaming her teammates. ..

But after Clark totaled 15 points on just 4-of-9 shooting? Surely Sides is also blaming herself, right?

JUNE 27 ZIP! With their third and final pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, the Indiana Pacers selected 6-7 Akron forward Enrique Freeman - a double-double guy with the Zips.

Freeman, 23, averaged 18.6 points and 12.9 rebounds per game.

JUNE 27 NEWTON IN The Indiana Pacers used their 49th pick in the NBA Draft to select 6-5 Connecticut guard Tristen Newton.

Newton went to UConn for the last two seasons after having played at East Carolina. He averaged 15.1 points and 6.2 assists per game last season. He won two NCAA titles with the Huskies and may be able to help at the next level as a defensive player.

JUNE 27 TRADE AND PICK The San Antonio Spurs have been movers and shakers in this NBA Draft. ... most recently in Thursday's second round.

Initially slated to select 35th overall, the Spurs traded back one spot with the Indiana Pacers in return for cash considerations.

The Pacers selected Johnny Furphy from Kansas 35th overall, and the Spurs ended up with Spanish point guard Juan Nunez 36th overall.

Nunez played 14 games for Ulm in the EuroCup and averaged 10.4 points, 5.8 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and shot 36.1 percent from deep,

Fuphy, who the Spurs traded, is a 6-9 with an NBA-ready shot.

Furphy joined the Jayhawks in August of 2023 out of Australia and developed over the course of his freshman season into an NBA prospect.

He got only one start for Kansas in the first 14 games of the season, but eventually become a first-teamer for Jayhawks, averaging 11.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in the last 18 games of the season.
