FIVE SEC TEAMS PREDICTED TO MAKE THE 2025 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF

This upcoming season will see a major change for the College Football Playoff.

There will now be 12 teams that make the CFP after expansion was agreed upon. Eight more teams will get to try and win college football's most prestigious trophy.

With that in mind, Andy Staples has predicted five teams from the SEC to make the CFP this year.

“When I did my post-spring Top-25, I got done and I realized, ‘Wait, I have five SEC teams in the playoff here. Is that too many? Do I need to adjust it?.' And I thought, ‘No, I don’t think I do,'” Staples said, via On3

Staples thinks Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Texas will definitely get in and expects one more team from the conference. That other team could be LSU or Oklahoma if either program has a good season.

A good chunk of the other teams that make it will come from the ACC, Big Ten, and perhaps the Big 12. There's good programs in all three of those conferences and will be vying to get into the dance.

This season's CFP will start on December 20 and will run into 2025.
