LEGENDARY ESPN ANCHOR'S FINAL SPORTSCENTER IS TONIGHT

For 25 years John Anderson has been a mainstay of ESPN's SportsCenter. But June 28, 2024 is set to mark the end of an era at the Worldwide Leader in Sports.

On Friday, ESPN announced that this Friday night will mark Anderson's retirement and final SportsCenter broadcast. To make the occasion extra special though, ESPN is going to pair Anderson with one of his longtime partners: Steve Levy.

"John Anderson is retiring after 25 years at the anchor desk Friday night, he'll host @SportsCenter for the last time as @espnSteveLevy returns to say goodbye to his longtime partner It's down to one show," ESPN PR wrote on X.

Anderson went to the University of Missouri and worked at local television stations in Tulsa and Phoenix before joining ESPN in the 1990s.

Over the decades, his work with the network has led to roles at the Summer Olympics and on the reality game show Wipeout. He was awarded the Bill Teegins Excellence in Sportscasting Award in 2011.

As for Anderson's future plans, earlier this week, the University of Missouri School of Journalism announced that Anderson would be joining the organization as their Endowed Chair in Radio and Television Journalism.

We wish Anderson all of the best in the next phase of his career.
