LONGTIME WNBA VETERAN THINKS ANGEL REESE NEEDS TO CHANGE HER GAME

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has no shortage of fans and haters but one longtime WNBA veteran believes that there is still legitimate criticism to be had and ways that she can improve.

Taking to X on Tuesday, former WNBA player and two-time NCAA champion Val Whiting praised Reese for how she played in a preseason tilt against the New York Liberty. But Whiting also believes that there is room for improvement in how Reese plays.

"Angel Reese was a dawg today vs the Liberty. I can tell she’s a great teammate. I love her energy with her team and how she supports them. But I stand by my point that she needs that face up game to be truly successful as a post in the W. She gotta stretch her game past the paint," Whiting wrote

Some fans agreed that there is room for Reese to improve. Others feel that she'll improve as she continues to play in the WNBA:

"Most of us basketball heads agree with you 100%. If she adds that to her game, she becomes a very dangerous player. With her length, ball handling, and passing ability, she could become a point forward in a few years. Her ceiling is possibly the WNBA version of Garnett," one user replied.

"She will Val. She was a guard in high school. I hope T Spoon lets her work on her 12 or 14 foot jumpers. Or 3 pointers to open up the floor for the other bigs," wrote another.

"She’s been training outside shots and I saw a couple of sweet fallaways. She knows it and she’s such a fierce competitor, I can’t believe she’s not going to be a HOF with an all-around game," a third wrote.

It's clear that people are looking forward to seeing what Reese can do in the WNBA and there's a lot of confidence that she can be one of the league's better players.
