NO. 1 POINT GUARD IN 2025 CLASS ANNOUNCES COMMITMENT

Five-star point guard Darius Acuff is officially off the board.

Acuff, the No. 1 point guard and No. 8 overall recruit in the 2025 class, per 247Sports' Composite Rankings, committed to Arkansas on Friday afternoon.

Acuff officially visited the Razorbacks in May and picked head coach John Calipari's program over Kansas and Michigan.

"We have a great relationship. We have been close for a year and a half," Acuff said to ESPN about Calipari. "Growing up, I knew what type of guard coach he was. He built the best relationship with me. He keeps it real. It’s like he is already your coach when you speak with him."

Originally from Michigan, Acuff spent last season playing for Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound floor general is regarded as a future NBA prospect.

"Acuff is the most dominant and dynamic lead guard in the class, who plays with outward confidence. He controls the offensive end of the floor with the ball in his hands and has a variety of versatile tools at his disposal," writes 247Sports' Adam Finkelstein.

Acuff is Arkansas' first commitment in the 2025 cycle, an early jewel for Calipari to build a strong class around.

Including transfers, Calipari is bringing in a top-3 haul for his first season in Fayetteville this winter.
