TOP 10 COLLEGE FOOTBALL QUARTERBACKS IN 2024

Top 10 College Football Quarterbacks In 2024

As the start of the college football season approaches, I have compiled a list of my top ten quarterback picks for 2024. While some of these players may not be familiar to you, I have based my rankings on their performances and statistics from the previous year.

10. Cam Ward

Cam Ward, a highly-rated transfer from Washington State, chose Miami as his landing spot. In the previous year, he ranked eighth in passing yards with 3,736, recording 33 total touchdowns, while only throwing seven interceptions.

9. DJ Uiagalelei

DJ Uiagalelei has transferred yet again, this time to FSU. He is poised to lead them to the playoffs this year. DJ continues to improve with 21 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and a passer rating of 145.

8. Shedeur Sanders

Shedeur Sanders had an impressive season, throwing for over 3,200 yards and achieving a passer rating of 151.7. However, his team's overall performance towards the end of the season was disappointing, which prevented him from ranking higher. If the offensive line improves and the defense performs better in the upcoming season, they should have a successful run and make it to a bowl game.

7. Jalon Daniels

Jalon Daniels could be a top draft pick if he stays healthy. Last year, he had a 74.7% completion percentage and a 173 passer rating. Daniels missed many games last year due to injury, which affected his yardage. However, his film reveals a different story.

6. Carson Beck

Carson Beck, the quarterback of Georgia, deserves to be on the list of top performers. He achieved an impressive QBR of 85.2, which placed him in the top 10 quarterbacks last year. Moreover, he was second in the SEC, just behind the Heisman Trophy winner, Jayden Daniels. Beck also ranked third in passing yards, throwing a total of 3,941.

5. Noah Fifita

Noah Fifita returned to Arizona, even though his head coach had moved to Washington. In 2023, he had the sixth-best QBR (85.6). With the two best teams leaving, the Big 12 is wide open. Arizona is joining the conference.

4. Kaidon Salter

Kaidon Salter, the quarterback for Liberty, had an impressive season last year. He had a QBR of 86.2, over 3,800 all-purpose yards, and a passer rating of 176.6. He has the potential to become the best quarterback in college football next year.

3. Quinn Ewers

Quinn Ewers has been one of the top quarterbacks in college football ever since he played second fiddle to C.J. Stroud in his freshman year. In the previous season, his team made it to the playoffs, defeated Alabama, and clinched the Big 12 championship. This year, he will likely face a lot of high-scoring games since many of his defensive teammates have moved on to the National Football League.

2. Jalen Milroe

Jalen Milroe had an impressive rookie season, leading his team to win the conference and make it to the playoffs. He ranked in the top 10 in QBR with a score of 83.6 and had over 3,200 all-purpose yards. With new coach Kalen Deboer leading the team this year, I believe Milroe will have an even better season and could potentially contend for the Heisman Trophy.

1. Dillon Gabriel

Dillon Gabriel was the fourth-highest-ranked quarterback in QBR last year, behind only Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, and J.J. McCarthy. He also ranked in the top 10 for passing yards with 3,660 and had a completion percentage of 69.3%. Additionally, Gabriel was in the top five for raw total quarterback rating with 85.4. If he can avoid injuries, he has the potential to become the best quarterback in college football and the NFL Draft.
